"Hey madam! you want new necklace? I will do special price, just for you! shouted the keen Chinese trader in broken English from his stall in the market place. he was friendly, and he smiled all the time, with unwaving enthusiasm. his stall was laden with piles of t shirts , undies ,socks and snap backs, that were laid out meticulously. but, even before thinking about his offer, the wealthy looking, over dressed woman shook her head to show she wasn't interested. The little Asian man was not put by her ungraetful respose. he simply, looked again to try to catch the eye of another shopper at the market.
"Puha , Puha for sale !" shouted the old lady. My Nanny scurried over to the table laden with freshly cut puha . she chatterd Te Reo maori with the old lady, whose hands, were stained with the juice from within the plant. she pushed handfuls of the leaves stalks into a plastic shopping bag. My Nanny pulled $5.00 out of her wallet and gave it to the old lady, whose wrinkles turned into a toothless smile. I couldn''t wait until we got home to put the puha into a boil -up.
"crack!" fractured the toffee as I champed into the bright red, sticky toffee apple. It shattered into little glass- like pieces in my hand. I licked the sweetness from my fingers. I became sticky around my chin, as I ate the delicious toffee apple I told mum , "I lick coming to the market because the sticky toffee apples are awesome to eat." mum said I'd love some but my false teeth might come out in the toffee apple.'' I thought," poor thing can't enjoy a toffee apple anymore.
"Thump!" the shot put pounded into the ground. The official ran out with the tape measure to find out. It had been my third and final throw. It looked promising. I waited finally, the official broke into an excited grin. It was a new record. My throw had mad a new school record.
Twang...vibrated the electric guitar string. The musician sang an old Time, rock and roll song ,''Rock around the clock gonna rock gonna rock, around the clock tonight."He tapped his foot, as he grinned from ear to ear and winked to the old ladies. his music rang out all over the market place. It created a happy atmosphere especially when he repeated the tune on his mouth-organ. It was music to my ears
.
Karching ...... went the cash register at the market where you get your drinks from. I asked my mum," can you get me a drink .''she said,'' all right .'when the man opened the cash register it was loud and heaps of money came out from the cash register the money went all over the place. we grabbed the money and we gave it back to him.
